Weeks in MVP consideration

SIT Zero Fees Southland Sharks' point guard Jarrad Weeks capped his regular season with another significant contribution in Sunday night's win over the Manawatu Jets, ensuring he finished inside the Top 10 rankings for the TAB MVP after the 14-week round-robin.

Weeks will now go in to consideration for the coveted MVP of the Sal's NBL, which will be voted on by a 17-strong panel and announced at the NBL Awards dinner on Friday night in Christchurch.

Weeks has led the Sharks in points (20.3 per game) and assists (4.3 per game) this season, including a career-high 44 point haul against Nelson in early May, capped by a 20-point, 6 rebound, 6 assist appearance on Sunday night in the Sharks' final game in front of its home faithful at ILT Stadium Southland.

The list of MVP candidates is headed by former Shark Nick Kay who accumulated the most coaches' points throughout the year (91), followed by the Rams' Cam Gliddon, Hawks' EJ Singler and Kay's Saints team mate Shea Ili, the only New Zealander to make the top 10.
