The joys of flying in central New Zealand this week! The weather conditions that saw thousands of travelers' plans disrupted this week has hit the SIT Zero Fees Southland Sharks.
After being forced into over-time last night before recording a six-point victory over the Mike Pero Nelson Giants, the Sharks arrived at Nelson airport this morning after an early wake-up call to find their flight delayed and then cancelled.
Faced with the none-too-inviting prospect of flying to Auckland and then south to Palmerston North, before busing the last leg of the journey to New Plymouth for tonight's game against the Taranaki Mountain Airs, Sharks management with the help of their travel agent Laker House of Travel, hastily rearranged travel plans to secure a direct flight later this afternoon.
The late arrival does mean that tonight's tip-off has been pushed back until 7:30pm.
A tough road back-to-back just got even tougher!
There is no live-stream tonight but you can follow the live game statistics here and we will have score updates of tonight's game on Facebook and Twitter from 7:30pm tonight.
