Top 10 Sharks - 10 to 6

Now, with the near misses recognised, it is time to countdown the Top 10 Sharks of the last 10 years, as voted by you, the Sharks Fan.

Here are those who fill spots 10 through 6 on our list. There are some great names in our club history below and remarkably we had a tie for 10th place ... but I'm sure you will agree the both deserve to be in there!

10= Brian Conklin

Conk was incredible across the 2013 and 14 seasons. He played a major part in the Sharks' inaugural championship in 2013, earning All Star Five honours and being named the League's Most Outstanding Forward. Incredibly, he average a shade under 30 points per game, across his 32 appearances in orange.

10= Dan Peck

Dan had been a great servant of Southland Basketball, playing 60 games over five seasons for the Sharks, including the championship run of 2013. He then also gave plenty back to the local community during his time as SBA's Development Officer.

9 - Andrew Wheeler

Wheels is the elder statesman of the Sharks, having debuted during our inaugural season of 2010 and featuring in eight of the nine seasons that have followed, bringing up 50 games in orange last season.

8 - Shea Ili

There is no doubt Shea has been one of the most influential players in the NBL of recent seasons, and whilst he has been nemesis over recent years with the Wellington Saints, he helped deliver Southland its second NBL title, running the point during the title-winning 2015 season under Paul Henare.

7 - Nick Kay

Nick joined the Sharks in 2016 as a promising Australian import and has blossomed into a dominant force in Australian basketball. His super-consistent play, 100% commitment and tireless worth ethic made him a fan favourite over the 2016 & 2017 seasons in the Shark Tank.

6 - Tai Wesley

Tai dominated the NBL in 2015 and played a huge role in delivering the Sharks its second NBL title. He earned All Star Five nomination, was awarded the NBL's Most Outstanding Forward and finished as the Finals MVP. In 28 games for the Sharks over two seasons, he averaged 17.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
