DKP & Tall Blacks make winning start in Doha

Southland Sharks' Dom Kelman-Poto played a key role for the Tall Blacks 3X3 team on the opening day of the Asia Qualifiers for the FIBA 3X3 World Cup this morning.

With a spot at the World Cup in June on the line for the tournament winners, DKP helped a short-handed Tall Blacks line-up to two wins over top seed Qatar and Kazakhstan to set up a semifinal clash with Malaysia in the early hours of Sunday morning (NZ time.)

New Zealand, without the services of guard Taylor Britt, relied on Kelman-Poto, former Shark Tai Wynyard and Nikau McCulloch to get the job done with Dom featuring prominently under the hoop through both clashes and drained two free throws to finish off Kazakhstan in the Tall Blacks second game.
