Result: Mills Albert Wellington Saints (119) defeat SBS Bank Southland Sharks (94)


The Wellington Saints finished strongly to claim a 119-94 victory over the Southland Sharks at TSB Arena on Saturday afternoon.


After an even opening quarter, the Saints gradually took control, using efficient shooting and relentless offensive pressure to build a double-digit advantage before extending it throughout the second half.


Donte Ingram led the Saints with another influential performance, while Elijah Pepper continued to provide scoring punch from the perimeter. Akech Aliir brought energy at both ends of the floor with several strong finishes around the basket, and Jordan Hunt capped off the afternoon with timely baskets as Wellington closed out the contest.


The Sharks continued to compete throughout the second half, with Keylan Boone, Samuel Timmins and Rylan Jones producing some of the visitors' brightest moments. Boone's defensive presence and Jones' hustle on both ends highlighted a determined effort despite the growing deficit.


Wellington's depth proved decisive, with contributions coming across the roster as the Saints maintained their intensity through all four quarters. The home side controlled the glass, generated second-chance opportunities and converted consistently to finish with 119 points.

Rapid League Result: Mills Albert Pathways Wellington Saints (51) defeat SBS Bank Southland Sharks (34)

The Wellington Saints defeated the Southland Sharks 51-34 after taking control in the second half. Southland got off to a strong start behind the shooting of Quake Webster and the shot-making of Dane Bertinshaw, helping the Sharks to a 12-9 lead at quarter time.


The Saints fought back to trail by just one at halftime before taking control after the break. Led by the perimeter shooting of Aubrey Chunga, the scoring of Mercury Nonu, and strong contributions from Arthur Pilcher, Sam Gold and Arana Robertson, Wellington outscored Southland 29-11 across the second half to secure the 51-34 Rapid League victory.
